Hello, I hope you laughed with the last film because today I will talk a good movie that has a little of everything but has nothing engaraçado: thrilling combat scenes, questioning social and political philosophy, drama and romance.
"Defiance" director Edward Zwick (Blood Diamond and The Last Samurai) is a war drama set in Belarus during World War II. Tells a true story very interesting with beautiful photography and a combination of stunts and convincing performances.
Tuvia ( Daniel Craig ), Zus (Liev Schreiber, X-Men Origins) and Asael ( Jamie Bell - Billy Elliot) are the Bielski brothers. Jewish survivors of an attack that killed his parents on the farm where they lived. The brothers take refuge in the forest and began living in the region, a place that happens to receive each day, more and more survivors becoming a center of resistance to the German army and the question of honor for the Führer. The desire to survive generates two behaviors: the organization in the community with their natural conflicts exacerbated by the shortage, and willingness to respond. The film resembles in some respects, and Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds Lord of the Flies because it shows characters who refuse to be victims and to show the difficulty of life in society without a strong arm on command.
The film also shows an aspect of war that is rarely shown by Hollywood, the overwhelming participation of Russia to the Allied victory is with traditional battalions, is fighting with the guerrilla partisans.
In war man reveals its limits and all the nuances of feelings are exacerbated.
Good movie to learn, reflect and have fun!
